Farmer's Markets Provide Healthy Nutrition Opportunities
Live Entertainment ~ Fresh Local Produce & Plants ~ Arts & Crafts

The Old Town Farmers' Market (OTFM) is grower-producer oriented place to buy fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, eggs and plants available from the local growers themselves! There are plentiful prepared foods, farm products turned into jams, salsas and honey, and hand-made crafts. Chef's demos, children's activities, and live local musicians make supporting local growers fun!
Now there are two locations:
Old Town at the Farm & Art Plaza (1st and Mosley) Saturdays 7:00 a.m. - Noon
A new east side location in Andover, East of Andover Road on Central - past the new schools and on the south side of the road. Wednesdays 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

PROS is asking for your input!
What types of parks, recreation and open spaces opportunities should the City provide?

The City of Wichita wants to know your thoughts! Surveys have been created for both adults and youth about what types of parks, recreation, and open spaces opportunities the city should provide. Simply click here to read more and take the surveys.

The surveys are the final installment to the four part lecture series on the PROS (parks, recreation, and open space) plan in the Wichita area. Your thoughts and suggestions are encouraged and essential to the strength of this program. Please take five minutes to fill out the survey and have your voice be heard in the community!

Health Tip: Follow the One-Hour Rule for Outdoor Cooking
This summer, people all across the United States celebrate the season with outdoor picnics and parties. As you get ready to fire up the grill, pack up the picnic basket and head outdoors, keep one very important tip in mind. When entertaining outdoors during the summer, it's important to remember the one-hour rule: In hot weather of 90 degrees Fahrenheit or more, perishable foods should not sit out of refrigerators for longer than one hour. Usually foods can stay out for two hours but not in hot temperatures it is very important to remember that time is reduced to one hour. Remember the one-hour rule to keep bacteria from spoiling your outdoor celebration.
